Sprites problem

Post by sad git »

I don't know if this is already known, but when you are using sprites the name of the unit obscures the stars on the unit info - whether the unit has a commander and whether the unit is a division or a corps. It's not a massive thing but I am one of the few who prefers to use the sprites. I've illustrated this with a screenshot, if it works. Is it possible for me to edit a file somewhere to move the name of the unit out of the way a bit, or can you turn off the names? Thanks, I'm a happy new player of the game otherwise.

You can move it by editing data\gfx\[UnitsSkin]Sprites\appearance.csv file in text editor. First two values in lines described as "Name Text Dst and Font" refers to left and top border of text area. For example, line:
-77;100;320;10;Arial;12;50;255;255;0;0;0;0;Name Text Dst and Font
This "100" is top value, so decrease it to move names up.

Or hit F4 key during game... F1 also may be interesting [;)]

Thanks. I think I'll just go with the F4 option for now. Perhaps you might shift the names in the next patch? [:)]
