I noticed when you combine IJA infantry regiments that have hvy infantry squads into their parent organizations the parent organization has the regular infantry squad in their TOE, causing the division to swell tremendously as they keep the heavy squads and build up regular inf squads to match their TOE. Also, I don't think the japs are replacing lost heavy inf since the regiments don't have anything listed in their TOE ID.

All versions of Scen028 and 029 updated to v06 on the website.

Hope you will tolerate me here John. There are a number of us amateur modders (speaking for myself) out here that use DaBigBabes as our base Scenario with a born again religious convert zeal. As for myself, and I am sure the others) I have made extensive tweaks and changes to the data base to serve my own appetite for micromanagement and details.

I totally believe that your (team collectively) updates bring to us a richer and improved WITPAE experience and am committed to upgrading as they are made available. Here's my problem (and I think you can see it coming) trying to compare the current version to the predecessor on a five zillion line for line basis is mind boggling.

Can you help me (us) out here and guide us through your current changes? If you will, the more specific the better or at least point me in the right direction.

Respectfully submitted,

DaBigBabes follower and prophet,

Buck

Oh, man ... it was just a few error fixes and grit corrections, nothing much to speak of and nothing that will impact on-going games. The biggie was tweaking the "fuel" number, in the ship file, to make sure we got back to the original premise: new construction arrives with nada, off-map base arrivals hit town with "half gas". Andrew Brown noticed that free fuel was creeping back into the system, and we just wanted to stamp that out.

The changelog would have hundreds of entries. The new version files update into existing games without much difficulty, so didn't think it all that important to do a documentation thing. Forgot about you guys. My bad. Still, there's not a lot of documentation I can do for ya'll except say what's happening, top level. I'll try and make it clear just which files are getting tweaked, and what the intent of the tweak is, in future.

Sorry 'bout that. Ciao. J

Buck, just an idea. When working from a baseline like that it might be useful to keep a list of the changes you make to the baseline, or at least a list of the units, etc. that you change so you can compare them when you need to.

My bad here I know but I am very very sure that the number of my on going changes makes it much easier to merge the updated mod into my mess than mine into the update. A devil of my own creation if I don't know what has changed.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Maybe just the various fields having the changes at this point eg devices, ship classes, ships, airgroups, locations etc. If I can eliminate some it will help.

Buck

Not worried what-so-ever about on-going games for my part.

I have a perl script that creates a "difference" file listing differences between two scenarios. If anyone gives me pointers to the two sceanrios, I can generate a difference file for the two.

Would love to see the diff for the new DaBabes 28 vs the previous one. Would it be possible to post it?

Nothing formal, sorry. but here's kind of a synopsis of the high points.

Modified Device data for better AAA/flak performance.
Added Alternate Device data for even better AAA/flak performance.
Modified Device data for smoother Naval combat performance.
Modified DC ship platform definitions for better ASW performance.
Modified DC Device definitions for better ASW performance.
Modified sub depth definitions for better ASW performance.
30% reduction in amount of Aviation Support squads (both sides).
30% reduction in amount of Naval Support squads (both sides).
30% reduction in number of "Base Force" LCUs (both sides).
Reduction in number and capability of "Engineering" squad types (both sides).
Extensive use of "Shore Party/Stevedore" squad types (both sides).
Tweaked map in Philippines to add Subic Bay and put Clark Field inland.
Tweaked map in Malaya to support barge TF movement along West coast.
LCUs redone to make troop content closer to actual, for island stacking limits (both sides).

Some of these things depend on special hooks in the program that stock scenarios were not set up to use.

That looks like the right map. Hopefully you downloaded the Map_Art and pwhexe from the website and installed them in the Art and main folders? Babes Scen0028-B should have Subic Bay base in the hex just to the left of Clark and a couple dinky bases NW of Singers in Malaya.

You will know if you have the right pwhexe installed if you hit 'R' (or whatever the hotkey is that shows roads) and see a trail from Subic Bay, over to Clark Field.

Ciao. John

That does not look like my map -
