Thank you for this scenario, it is great. I can think of one idea for scoring a nuclear war though, you could have it represent megadeaths.
edit: perhaps with negative numbers for more accurate adjectives

@ WBailey, Thanks for the kind words.

Regarding attacks on Single-Unit Airfields...

This scenario makes extensive use of single unit airfields for the Soviet side and these are intended to be targets for the Player but solely with nuclear weapons (there are no conventional strike weapons available to the Player) . Have now done a number of tests with Build-813 and nuclear weapons certainly do damage single-unit airfields (SUA) but I could not get a mission with an SUA as the target to launch and this seem working as designed. However, this should not be a problem with Wargasm, 1962 since superimposed over each Soviet SUA is a target marker that can be targeted in a strike mission. This was an intentional work-around since building the 30+ Soviet PVO bases would have been a trial (given this scenario author's intrinsic idleness) and they could be attacked when the scenario was written, well over 200 CMANO builds ago. The intention behind using the markers was to disguise the characteristics of the SUA's from the Player so he had no intelligence regarding the size of the base. With the improvements to CMANO since, this was a fortuitous design decision.

So for all of the budding scenario authors out there who wish to use SUA's as targets for nuclear weapons, just place any marker on top of it and all should be well. A 200 KT weapons should render the SAU useless even if any aircraft based there survive. Otherwise do not use SAU's if you think that the Player might attempt a conventional attack against one. We all should know by now that the position taken by the Team with regards to SUA's is entirely reasonable; if you want airfields to attack, build them. Players, if you want to attack enemy single unit airfields, don't or make certain you're using nukes. Otherwise forget the attacks and quit whining about single-unit airfield invulnerability. That horse is long dead and the stink is all over anyone who brings up the inability to target SUA's going forward. It's working as designed and in accordance with the intentions of the CMANO Team and that's certainly good enough for me.

Single unit airfields are a nice, time and unit-saver for situations where no airfield attacks are intended and not just a shortcut for lazy scenario authors wanting to save time or economize on units. That said, using the Clone Unit command you can crank out a dozen or so targetable airfields in not much longer than the time it took to write this post. Build them all on one place, in a row or a circle works fine, group them, name them and move the assembled airfields wherever they need to be. Was I building Wargasm, 1962 from scratch in CMANO v1.11, this is the approach that I would use, particularly given the vast improvements to the game speed in the recent builds.

Hi Randomizer

Looks like an interesting scenario.I have watched the movie and wondered if this is what they call in the movie the "Grand Tour"?
I have problems however finding the Target list you say is included as .rtf file.
I downloaded the newest scenario pack but I can't find the file.
What am I doing wrong?

You're doing nothing wrong and thank you for trying Wargasm, 1962. Am not familiar with that particular movie but the scenario was partly inspired by the book 15-Minutes: Curtis LeMay and the Countdown to Nuclear Annihilation by L. Douglas Keeney and the result in extensive research into the nuclear arms race for a non-game related project. If it resembles any flic, it's probably Dr. Strangelove or perhaps By Dawn's Early Light (because one can never get too much Rebecca De Mornay).

The target list was inadvertently omitted from the last Community Scenario version but you can get it here with the corrected scenario files:

Latest Version - Wargasm, 1962

Good Luck.

I actually mean By Dawn's Early Light.Watched it a couple of weeks ago so that's why I thought about it.Not the best of movies but for sure Rebecca made it a bit easier on the eyes.
Unfortunately I am still unable to find that file in the link you provided.
All I see are 2 files but no Target list.

Many thanks to Stilesw for the save... It's greatly appreciated.

Fixed the scenario uploads to include the target list and apologize for the omission. No excuse, my error. Note to self: in future double check the *.zip file AFTER uploading.
