Not significant in terms of shipping but that 2 units were badly needed. [:(]

Well evens the score for that sub attack off the coast of Thailand about one month ago. That AP that you sunk had 3,600 troops on it from the 38th division. About 1000 were rescued, but I lost about 60 AV plus support in that one attack. Set my assault on Singapore back 4 days.

The merchant ships massacre was indeed a big feat for Japan. More than the casualties, heavy in any case, other consequences over Bobo who needs to protect or avoid this route.

What most elated me, though, was the PTs raid at Madand(?).

Woooowww!

This Bobo is a BEAST of an opponent.

Regarding the close torpedoing of the Kaga, I think that against an able opponent I should keep permanently sub hunter/killer flottillas (effective sub chasers/destroyers+ dedicated air squadrons) at the approaching tracks to highly sensible locations such as Truk.

At the beginning-mid of war, for example, Truk is in my game one of the main hubs for fuel, troops, supply. Lot of valuable prize in and out. And, as you can see, the organic escort of the sailing fleets is not sufficient to keep them, the subs, at bay.

Yes. I got a little lazy in my ASW air patrols out of Truk. I had them focused north when some troops ships arrived and never switched them back to southern arcs to cover the CVs. Also, I went away from my normal TF composition, in which I like to keep more escorts than capital ships in CV and SC TFs. As 821Bobo can testify, my CVs have been swimming in sub infested waters since Dec. 7th, and that was the first attack. It was also the first time that I did not have my normal TF composition: never again. I will stay with what works for me.

The game is on hold until next week... BTW.
