Command MO: Live - Sahel Slugfest is out

Post by AlbertoC »

Sahel Slugfest is the thirteenth DLC in the Command LIVE series.

Watch the trailer

As public opinion worldwide sets its sights to more popular geopolitical affairs, the situation in sub-Saharan Africa is getting hotter than ever.

Old and new “colonial” powerhouses are wrestling over oil reserves, significant business opportunities and for political dominance. In particular, China and France are showing a clear interest in Chad and Sudan, where the Sahel desert stretches across both countries.

Jump into a tense escalation of events that will get out of hand fast in Command LIVE Sahel Slugfest. Out now.

Sahel Slugfest releases alongside the massive 1.02 update for Command Modern Operations. It introduces a huge amount of fixes and new content, including many new types of aircraft, weapons, ships, submarines, loadouts, facilities and much more. You can read the full changelog here.

Awesome, I was eagerly awaiting a French official scenario!

Is there a Live News PDF for this one?

Well this was a surprise! Thanks!

A couple notes from my first tentative playthrough.

1) Regarding the nations you can't overfly (as France at least), it honestly seems a little odd to specifically bar flights over the Arabian Penninsula, when there's no real reason to even head in that direction to begin with. I think a more interesting thing to do would be to mandate French aircraft stay clear of Ethiopian and maybe Egyptian airspace, so to narrow the corridor of approach for De Gaulle's aircraft, especially since while Eritrea doesn't have much capability. Ethiopia does have some Floggers and Flankers.

2) From the French side at least, the briefing is rather open-ended, which is both good and not-so good. It's good for allowing some more freedom, but not so good in that it doesn't specify any particularly valuable targets to strike to hinder the Sino-Sudanese effort.

Just my thoughts so far. I made a seriously bad blunder in my first playing so I'll take another stab tomorrow.

Nice. I was waiting for a scenario with Charles de Gaulle. It's a shame there are no Franch submarines and French Foreign Legion.

I downloaded the Sahel Slugfest scenario and ran the installation with the serial number as per usual. The installation seems to run normally but when I run CMO and go into the Load Scenario window the new scenario does not show up in the list of Live scenarios. In the Command Modern Operations folder I can see a file called CLIVE-SahelSlugfest_reg.txt. This is the only sign of the new scenario I can find. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a similar issue. The Launcher would not allow me to enter the serial number. Unless you are able to enter the serial number, AND allow the game to install it, then the scenario is not considered to be loaded.

I contacted MATRIX Tech Support. Before they could actually provide any assistance, I reverted to the old "reboot the system" trick. This time the screen area to enter the serial number popped up, and it allowed me to enter the serial number.

Make certain that you follow through with the loading procedure. IIRC, it will mention loading the CMO GAME, but it is really just registering the new SCENARIO. It will be completed in seconds.

Try rebooting, and then see if you can enter the serial number. If not, then contact MATRIX Tech Support and report it and get a ticket.

I figured out what happened. The installation created a new folder inside the load scenario window called "shaders". Inside this folder are the stand alone scenarios, the large DLCs (chains of war etc.) and a live folder. All of the live scenarios including the new one were are in there. All of the live scenarios are also in a separate "live" folder and the stand alone scenarios and large DLCs are as well. Now all of my DLCs and stand alone scenarios are in two locations on the load scenario page. Weird, but at least it works.

True.
Quote:
The only serving French carrier is the Charles de Gaulle, which also serves as the flagship of the Marine Nationale. The Carrier Battle Group (Groupe Aéronaval, GAN, in French) of the Force d'Action Navale is usually composed, in addition to the aircraft carrier, of:

a carrier air wing (Groupe Aérien Embarqué, GAE, in French), a complement composed of about 60 aircraft:
Rafale F3 (up to 30)
E-2C Hawkeye (2)
SA365 Dauphin (3) for RESCO and EC725 Caracal for CSAR (2)
one Rubis-class submarine
two anti-submarine destroyers (currently FREMM ASM or Georges Leygues class)
one or two anti-air destroyers (Horizon or Cassard class)
one stealth frigate in forward patrol (usually a La Fayette class)
one supply ship (currently a Durance-class tanker)
