Just considering how WW2OL was axed by reviewers and players alike when first released and is still haunted by that reputation, I gotta say:

Matrix Games got some HUGE balls. :) Dave, if you manage to make WW2OL into what it was supposed to be from the start, then you got my respect. And a sold copy. ;) I have refrained from trying it so far. The fire it took at first scared me off.

Hi

I have talked with both Jim and Al and then played the game as it stands today. In a word it a new experence and gamers are missing out if they still considering this anything like the 2+ year ago release. I purchased a copy of the game when it first came out and was not happy to say the least. So as a customer myself I know what I want and expect to get out of this game. Its not perfect but I feel its nothing like what I purchased 2+ years ago.

Playnet and Corned Rat have more then improved the game and enhanced it beyond what it was. Anyone who even thinks they may enjoy this styling of gaming should give it a try in its current form. Remember that Highway to the Reich will come with a free one month trial version so there is no reason not to try it. My staff and myself were thrilled at the gameplay when we tried it out. I admit Jim and Al had to do some talking to get me to try it but the proof was in the game and gamers need to know this.

We all are now working on bringing the game to the next level and when we are done I am sure you will not be able to find another WW2 online experence like it.

Some days I fret if I am being dangerously overly completely behind Matrix Games eh.

I like to say nice things, but David is sad to say human and quite mortal hehe.

I have watched Matrix Games pick up and make repairs to GI Combat a game no one said kind words to for the most part (there are always fans of anything).

I have not played the reborn game YET, so I will wait.

I watched Matrix Games pick up the computer World in Flames project, and my first experience with it was WTF this interface sucks big time. I think they will have some work to make the game a solid success.

Now Matrix Games takes on WWII Online, a game that my first impressions were man this game was still born if the comments are even half right.

But I have faith in Matrix Games, and will continue to have faith until I have reason to be of a different opinion eh :)

Now if I can just figure out how to get Matrix Games involved with MMP so they can intelligently market ASL, life will be good.
I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

There are a couple of obvious errors here ;)
1: Dave doesn't have to make WWIIol into anything, it's almost there allready and have made it so far by themselves. all they need is a serious company backing them. and doing retail deals.

2: If you have refrained from trying a game that has obviously stayed afloat for two and a half years despite those reviews also as old, then you are really missing out.

Like Dave said above, there will be no experience quite like it, but there is no experience even vaguely like it as it is allready.
Get highway to the reich and try it out, nothing to lose.
There are also some magazines having 14 day trials if you are interrested.

Hi Everyone

I didn't mean to make it sound like Matrix was going to save this game or anything like that. We think the game really does not need much of anything and the few points we do feel could use some work are fully in line with Playnet thinking as well. Matrix is not a big company but we will stand behind the product.

Why in the world do people judge the game by what it was like at release? I can't name a single MMOG that has launched without any problems

It has been 2 years and a half since release, and people are still b1tching about the release? I don't understand

I still think Battlefield 1942 is the best game out there for fun and entertainment on a quick scale of things and it's free to play online, no fees. Yeah I know it doesn't have campaigns as someone said over at the wargame forum, but, big deal. FREE means a lot more to me in entertainment than PAY to PLAY, it's just a game of shoot em up, and with a good group of players, it's more than just a shooter, it's a tactical adventure. ;)
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?
