VC/NVA Intel question

Post by devoncop »

Something that occurred to me whilst watching the first presentation on You Tube......Obviously the US has a hard job pinning down the location of the VC. As I am also interested in playing as the VC/NVA, I wondered if the game models in any way improved intel/visibility for the Communist side given the infiltration of the ARVN by VC sympathisers?

In many scenarios there are VC civilians scattered around the map that will provide some intel for you.

Civilians won't attack forces, no.

There are a variety of different types of civilians though.

Normal (not armed)
Lightly armed (like protesters)
and more guerilla forces (combat)

Of course, a moving civilian may trigger opportunity fire, so one should be cautious of that.

Sorry Jason...can you just clarify that last answer....re the three types of civilians...do either the lightly armed civilians or the guerillas fire back if fired upon...whether inadvertently (if they were hidden in the FOW) or not ?

Yes, they will fire back. Or they will initiate fire, depending on the situation.

You may not want to fire on lightly armed civilians though, you would consider them hurling rocks or something. While it is an attack, it is an attack at 1, so will have little effect, but shooting them will have considerable consequences.

Excellent. Exactly as I hoped it would work.

Thanks.
