Specific order of battle question

Love the game, play it a lot - it's definitely a go-to sim for me for all things Western Front!

But I am curious, my grandfather had served in the 493rd Field Artillery battalion, and had taken part in the allied efforts to clear Alsace. Also helped to turn back Operation Nordwind. I know the 493rd had been largely assigned to the 12th armored, but it looks like for periods they did support various infantry outfits, including some free french. But...when I look at the order of battle I don't find the 493rd anywhere. Is that because it's been cooked into the 12th armored's TOE?
