Vic please test super late game

Post by sykaax »

Vic please test super late game.

I like to play and I sometimes go into the very late game like +300 turns. The problem I'm starting to run into is simple, at some point the game just starts crashing during turns. Moreover, this does not depend on the presence or absence of majors, minors. Just when the production of resources, for example, computer chips, becomes 1000 per turn, the population becomes about 5 million, etc. And at some point, just during the turn, the game starts to crash and it cannot be fixed, you just have to throw out the save. It seems to me that the problem is related to variable overflow. Memory leak and game crash. I'll send one of my saves that doesn't work anymore if you try to click button Next Turn.

I want to just try to make gameplay with my friends super late game to bomb each other with nuclear missiles with robo soldiers, but because the game usually starts to crash like this often, it's hard to do something. Therefore, it would be cool if in future updates you could optimize the game engine to maintain a high population, a high amount of resources, etc. Super late game.

Interesting. At one point about two years back, we had a "turn 500" bug, which was fixed, so its not simply the turn progression crashing your game. As you say, it may be just the sheer size of the numbers you are generating.

I guess it may be code, like a Y2K bug, or it may be your hardware being overwhelmed.

Isn't the late game sort of played out, though?

I think the error is with resource variables. overflow.
Well you know the super late game is the most fun for me personally especially if you and a friend agree to only have a few nuclear missiles or prohibit the use of ICBM. For example, you can design different models for a very long time and fight who will have big points, also you always come up with different tactics to destroy each other, for example, in the last game I used the tactics of fighter bombers and reconnaissance aircraft, I had 10 thousand reconnaissance aircraft or even more and about 2000 attack aircraft. My friend spawned a bunch of nuclear missile launchers, but my fighters literally knew every cell of his map because of my reconnaissance aircraft and I simply destroyed his armies, then at some point he built a powerful air defense that did not allow me to work normally and I was forced build huge tanks which he has actually already begun to successfully destroy with nuclear missiles. As a result, this whole confrontation ended with him breaking into my territory and starting blowing up cities with nuclear missiles, and I ended up destroying all his logistics with my planes. As a result, our game started to crash and we didn’t finish =) but I guess it would have been another 100 moves or something to find out who would survive this apocalypse. And yes, did I say that he destroyed about 60% of my population? and I am about 30% of its population due to hunger?. In general, it's really fun.

cute
in other words: Planetary apocalypse can be quite a see-saw, but you need some co-operation with the enemy to bring the game that far along in terms of size and powers.
