GE Gui & Sym Mod Depot (continued)

Re: GE Gui & Sym Mod Depot (continued)
Now that you're making the air insignia for the minor axis allies, I remembered that Hardradi had also modded the Hungarian air units, if that helps (although they're not all done):

Thanks for that info.Rexzapper wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 5:30 am Now that you're making the air insignia for the minor axis allies, I remembered that Hardradi had also modded the Hungarian air units, if that helps (although they're not all done):

I just did the generic logos and/or fixed naming bugs which made them not being shown in game altough being available in the game files.
....okay I felt like doing some finnish ones indeed

There is still so much to be done just for Germany.

If you restart work on this, let me know, I may have some stuff that could help, I'm using your mod, but have been adding emblems myself..
Here are some Aufklarungs Gruppe badges, all have nice tidy alpha channels, just can't see them in this format, some have alternates etc.

Thanks, yes I rly need to start working on the mod again.Jace11 wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 1:22 pm If you restart work on this, let me know, I may have some stuff that could help, I'm using your mod, but have been adding emblems myself..

The issue I ran into is that many of the Air Group logos vary dramatically between sources.
There are several factors influencing this, like:
- exchange of planes between Air Groups
- simultanously "switch-renames" of two whole Air Groups
- rename of old (pre war/ pre Barbarossa) Air Groups without replacement -> Later reforming them
- and many more...

As you see, lot of work still to be done. Not sure how you'd like to approach the issue. Either you create your own mod or you contribute to this one and I integrate the logos you have so far and we may re-arrange them later once I've done the visualizations/listings for them to rule out the issues named above.

Wow, It would be great to add such a large number of Aufklärungsgruppen symbols, many of them currently have nothing.Jace11 wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 1:22 pm If you restart work on this, let me know, I may have some stuff that could help, I'm using your mod, but have been adding emblems myself..

Re: GE Gui & Sym Mod Depot (continued)
Well, I'm off playing Rule the Waves 3 atm, and have also paused work on this, however it was getting increasingly difficult to find reference material and images.
If I had this book https://www.panzerwrecks.com/product/em ... fe-band-1/ I think it would fairly be easy to do them all, but its pretty expensive, I had to make do with preview pages, and even took a still from a youtube video review of the book.
Then there is https://www.asisbiz.com/Luftwaffe-Units.html, but what you might not know is there are reasonable resolution unit badges hidden around that website, but you have to search through the web code to find them...
For example https://www.asisbiz.com/icons/Bf-109Gx1 ... esheet.svg is a 109G badge sheet, and there are several for each major german aircraft type.
Another good example including aufklarer units https://www.asisbiz.com/icons/Aufkl-e10 ... esheet.svg
Anyways, I've uploaded my Airsym folder here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/dyjjfkv7 ... m.zip/file
and people can do with it as they wish. It is based on Super64 and Wiedrocks work- so credit to them
This means some will be the same as you already have, but there is alot of new stuff too adapted from sources like those links above... and just use it as you see fit, incorporate it into a bigger mod etc or pick out the icons you want, I can't claim any real credit, most are all adapted from books, websites, others work, but a handful have been made from scratch by me...
That zip does not contain any of the default icons and not the complete contents of either super64 or wiedrocks mods so you should backup if you plan using them...

Thank you for adding your mod to download. I have some very interesting books in PDF format about air unit badges, if you are interested, tell me and I will send them to you by email.

Is this a standalone mod or is the other GUI mod also needed?

Thank you very much for your work!
Maybe you already know and it cannot be fixed, but one issue I stumbled upon: Army Group South in 1941 scenario shows a wrong symbol.

Re: GE Gui & Sym Mod Depot (continued)
What's wrong about the Symbol (can you elaborate)? It is using 2 logos because the "Krimschild" was later used and before that they most likely had the normal symbol for a Heeresgrupppe. In game this HQ gets renamed several times and one name can only have one file in the game data.zyankali89 wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 3:46 pm Thank you very much for your work!
