Re: WDS Mods

Post by Hellway »

Hello everyone,

Here is a recent video (the game has been released on Steam) of a YouTuber using my WDS mods in real time (starting at around 8:30 min). Don't forget to read the list of changes in my post (there are a lot of them) and feel free to try the other links available under the main link in my post, with different colors for the German counters or a softer battlefield sound for those who prefer it. Everything must be installed with JSGME in order (first the mod itself, then the downloaded options).

Have fun!

Changing list with this mods:

- Units Counters
- Units picsImages (info bar counters)
- New picsairImages (air ops menu)
- Small Nato icons in extreme zoom out view
- Refined some Nato Counters to make them cleaner
- Differents HQ's Icons according to the country army (Ger, Luft, Rom, Ital) and differents level
- New look start/options/battle/briefing/wait screens
- Refined All Maps
- Start menu music
- Some Leaders photos
- Battle sound replace the "in game" music (verify that music level is not on 0) if you install this from my second link
(original or softer - see the multiple links in the first post)
- Some units movements and fight sounds for units
- Some map icons cursor and effects (binocular, arty/air programmed, etc...)

Now on first post :

- WDS Mods v2.3 with new MECH Ger and Sov counters

- New "Soviet Red" counters color for Russian Army (see Pt 5 of my first post). You can use it with or without the "Flak green" counters for German army (see Pt 4 of my first post). Intsall with JSGME AFTER the mods himself.

Have fun,

That video is really cool, one of the best around and fairly detailed as well as recent. It was one of the videos that helped me decide I need to buy either Stalingrad or Overlord since the mechanics are just too good to miss.

And of course the modded graphics look really cool and that helped as well. In general I'm very interested in the ones that make the NATO counters better at zoom out, and the bombard/attack icons smaller.

Map looks smooth as well, great work.

Now I just need to decide which one to get. I prefer the eastern front as a setting and there's a lot of mod work already done, but if the game engine and UI work is concentrated on Overlord from now on...

Thank you very much. I plan to create the same Mods for Over lord but I don't know when yet.

I've installed the mod, all good, I like the visuals very much but the main menus are too dark red and the black text barely reads. How can I revert to the lighter main menu backgrounds?

Hello,

Uninstall the mods (with JSGME), delete the folder called "start" (only this one) include in folder called "images" in the mods himself and reinstall the mods (with JSGME too).
