Help!

Just tried to start SCIIWITP and nothing is happening. Everything else is working (editor, check for updates manual etc).
Anybody know what could be the problem? I tried rebooting my computer but still nothing. This is also happening with SCIIACW.

Might your anti-virus be the issue?

Perhaps try whitelisting the game there just in case.

Possibly also try running the game as administrator.

Ok I went out and when I came back a couple of hours later and low and behold it was working again. I thought it might have been the Chinese govt interfering with VPNs again (I work in the PRC) as they like to do periodically but that wouldn't explain why the games weren't launching in the first place because that has nothing to do with the internet. Anyway thanks for responding to my post and if I have any further bother I'll come back to this forum again.

I'm not familiar with whitelisting. What is that?

Basically instructing the anti-virus to exclude certain files/folders from being flagged as dodgy.

Obviously it's to be used with caution, but as they can sometimes think things are dangerous when they're not, it can be necessary.
