Casualties

Post by sfbaytf »

Playing the tutorial and was able to get ashore on Omaha easily. The Casualties after 4 turns seems very light, especially for the Allied side.

Yep . . . Historically V Corps suffered 2,400 Dead, Wounded, and Missing.

How do the 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions look Readiness-wise (a.k.a., the heart)?

The tutorial is designed to illustrate the features/mechanics of the game, and may not be historically accurate with regard to casualties. The AI stance, whether hold or withdraw, would have an effect too.

One of the other beachhead scenarios may be a better indicator whether the game is properly handling casualties.

116th (29th Infantry Division) makes sense / They were the 29th’s Assault Wave.

How does the 1st Infantry Division look?

1st is in even better shape. I looked at saves from turn 2 and 3 and never went below 80% effectiveness.

Playing the 135 Overloard Campaign. End of June 6th. D-Day looks like a smashing success. Casualties very light.
