I was doing a Yahoo search for Empires in Arms about 2 years ago. I was excited because it said available soon. I have since purchased War in the Pacific, Campaigns on the Danube, World at War, and Reach for the Stars. I am still waiting for EIA but I have had a lot to do in the mean time anyways. WITP is great. I love RFTS. GGWAW is okay. I like it but have trouble really getting into it. CotD is okay as well but is no longer on my HD.

When the demise of atomic came after cc5 someone said matrix was going to create the 'next generation' of closecombat type games. It then split into close assault and combat leader, one turn based, the other real time like cc.

So I came over to be a part of the discussion on what features I'd like to see in the next generation of closecombat.

Oh, and the relationship is going just fine... but for some reason, they keep taking my money. [8D]

When they released SPWAW for free. Not sure when it was. 1999 ? 2000 ? I remember I downloaded it with "robby" (my poor us robotics 33.6k :-))) ) it took about 2 days if I remember well! :-)))

Egad, I think it was early 2001. My college room-mate and I had comitted finals seppuku playing SP (SSI versions) instead of studying for several terms in a row. I got on the net and did a search for SP to look for patches and voila! Matrix pops up!

I have been mostly a SPWAW junkie, but have also purchased UV and WitP. I plan to buy at least 8 copies of CL when it comes out just to make up for all the waiting. They are killing me with this CL thing. I need this next generation game to continue to thrash my old college room-mate in PBEMs. The viscious ba$tard has been getting a little too smug lately, now that we live on opposite sides of the continent...

Most of the vets know about me, as I've been fortunate to serve in various capacities with Matrix during my 5 years on the forums. I've made some great friends, and unfortunately lost a few along the way, but it's been a fascinating and rewarding experience so far.

Not bad for a nearly-48 year old gamer whose stubborness and perserverance got me in touch with several gaming luminaries, earned myself a few more grey hairs, and allowed me to participate in a couple of Matrix projects.

Wouldn't trade it for the world. [:D]

When Gary Grigsby and Co signed with Matrix I followed. Now, luckily, Matrix is much more than 2by3's games and I buy most of them. I found a new "home" here when SSI closed.

Been a tester for Uncommon Valor and War in the Pacific.

I would like to help 2by3 once again one day....

well Matrix was the first forum i got on when i -at last - installed internet at home (we european are like that, slowmovers)
i searched for "wargames" and when i found pacwar, i couldn't resist downloading it.
then met some people here then saw some got expelled then got fed up (it was at the time of gulf war - lot of US against Euro mails and yelling etc. So i quit (my computer helped me by breaking down later).
now i'm back under second name and am positively pleased to see some quiet here.
So, if you don't mind, i'll stay around some.

Discovered SPWAW and Matrix when I first got on the internet. I was seriouslyt ill at the time and only played solo but soon got the pbem bug. Been playing Matrix games ever since. Met a great bunch of guys and still meeting them over the internet.

Anyone remember the now defunct Novastar Game Co? They took over publishing and creating scenario bundles for some of SSI's old Grigsby and Kroger titles like Pacwar, Steel Panthers and Tanks! Then one day they went poof. While searching for what had become of them I finally stumbled on Matrix.

Matrix...please don't become defunct.

It's kinda like being married ... you don't exactly know where it came from ... but now you've got it and you're stuck with it ... until something better comes along ...

Come to think of it, that applies to venereal disease, too.

Back in January I was in PC World looking for a new game and came across Combat Mission Anthology (1,2,3) for a few quid. I had only really played RTS games before this and mistakenly thought CM would be a WW2 RTS.

I couldnt stop playing it, and after a few weeks wanted more of the same. I searched PC world for something similar - no luck.

I had a search on the web for WW2 based strategy games - looking for proper, deep, turn based wargames - and found..... BiN.

I paid for and eagerly downloaded one night after work and almost pulled an overnighter! (4am as I recall - tried and failed not to wake the wife when coming to bed! [>:] [&:] [:-])

Since then I have bought KP and its expansion, HttR, and GGWaW. I have also just got BiI (arggh not enough hours!)

Overall I cannot fault Matrix - the quality and depth of these games is exceptional and I'm sure other games in their arsenal are equally good (as I will find out over time im sure )

Some people really do convert from Rts to computer turn based! And Swedester discovered the true reason why turn based is better. That is really good news! Welcome Swedester and much happy gaming.

I really have no idea when I found Matrix. I was a long, long time ago. In a city far, far away from where I am now. I heard about SPWAW somewhere(who knows) and that's how this crack like addiction startred. SPWAW has never, ever left my computer(s). As of today I own almost every game Matrix has published. It is a typical marriage: I own nearly every game Matrix has published. Like any marriage there have been ups and downs. But I must say; even the games that did not addict me were worth the price I paid for them.

No other computer company has been so successful at producing so many 'bang for buck' games.

Thanks to all you folks.

It's been so long that I barely remember by now; I think it was the old Pacific War and War in Russia remakes that introduced me to the company. No looking back since then! [:D]
