A few questions for the pros....

Post by theater15 »

New guy questions here:

1. When you build infantry, you automatically use 2 pop. pts. When they are actually created do they use 2 pts again?

I ask because when you build tanks, etc,... no pop. pts are taken immediately.

2. I know in the manual it says you CAN move factories... but so far I have been unable to do so. Are there situations where moving a factory is not possible? or have I just missed the boat somewhere?

3. I have also yet to make an amphibious assault. I can load my transports up, but not unload them to attack. What are the requirements/limitaions to launching the assault?

Thanks in advance.

Population is spent ONLY the turn the unit deploys to the board - NOT when you build it. Nopte that damamged units add a pop point when dmaged, and still cost two to rebuild (net of 1) but that you can use that 'extra" pop point returned to the pool to build anything.

You have to have 30 transport capcity ni EACH region you try to move the facotroy through, including the start and end regions.

You don't "Load" transports, you use them like "railroads at sea" you need to have 5 sea transport points available in each region you move amphibiously assaulting units through and then 5 Amphib points for each in the sea area adjacent to the destination. WHen teh points are avialable you just click on the unit invading and then mouse over teh area you are invading and you should see a trail of blue arrows. If not look for the region with insufficient sea transport ot amphib capacity and try to move more sea transports in.

Thanks for the answers.

My only remaining question is this: If units only use population points when they are created, why when I click on Infantry, do 2 population points automatically disappear, but not when I click on a tank or plane?

It sounds like you are clicking on MIL not INF. As MIL only takes one turn to create they use 2 pop right away - as every unit uses 2 pop on its last turn of production.

[8|] Isnt it amazing how something so obvious and simple can be staring you in the face and you look everywhere but right at it.

Thanks for the clarification.

Just to make sure I am reading you guys AND the manual correctly:

If a transport = 25 transport capacity & 3 amphibious capacity
Tanks = 10
Factory = 30
Everything else = 5

So...for me to amphibiously assault with say just 1 tank, I would need 4 transports in the unloading area.
And to assault with just 1 Infantry I would only need 2 transports in the unloading area.

I am sure this is WaW 101, but I thank you for the help!
