So how will this work? I understand how Vassal operates, but is there a module in progress? My game is on it's way, but I just wanted to know what the story is at this point-as I'm looking at solitare till Vassal.

Yes, Bill Ash is working on the Vassal module, and I'm sure it will be great!

I have a newbie question about Vassal... I've been poking around with the LnL Vietnam module and it seems that a veteran (or fairly experienced) player would go nuts playing a new person. By this I mean, slow play, unsure about the rules, making mistakes, etc. I'm really looking forward to playing this once the module comes out but am a little worried as I'm pretty sure I'll butcher the rules a bit!

Should a new person like me just player other newbies until we know what we're doing or are people fairly patient as others learn the system?

Thanks!

You will find other persons (like me!) that know the system (I played around 20 games) and made a lot of questions in the forum, very pleased to combine a match with you :) We must only wait the Vassal module...

I would appreciate that very much! Will touch base with you once the module comes out. Thanks for the generous offer.

I'll be up for a game as soon as the mod is done as well. It will be the best way to learn the rhythm of play.

Module should be ready shortly. Just having the guys take a look through it to see if there are any errors. Also, I need to write up some sort of help file. 'Course, that can always be done after the fact, but we shall see.

Now I could keep this thing forever, and still find more to add......more tweaks and features etc......but then it would never be done. So, I hope to release it as is.....which is awesome enough as it stands.....and then add more stuff to it as updates further down the road.

Sound good?

Sounds great Bill... the earlier the better. I have the game but have not been able to play yet -- too many pets! Looking forward to seeing your oustanding handi-work!

Thanks!

Vassal is updated today from v2.05 to v2.1. So, gonna give it the once over to see what kinda of new tweaks can add to the mod using this new version.

Oh...BTW: What do you guys see as scenario specific counters that were not included in the boxed game? The mod will have some "Victory Hex" counters, "Fire" (as in flames) counter, a hot button to identify US Airborne Half-Squads as "Pathfinders". Working on a P-51 Mustang now. Any others you guys can think of? "Eureka Unit" counter for example.
