Leaders

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Leaders

I think someone brought this up before, but do leaders stats improve or worsen over time based on experince in battle? Do they ever gain stars? I seem to only get 1 star generals when generals are generated.

If the answer to the above is no, I hope Eric will look into it. I like seeing the units develop from green recruits to veterans. Would be great to see leaders develop as well.

Was facing a combined Russian, English and Swedish force in Normandy. I had two armies in paris. I sent smaller army west, a corps east then moved all three forces to Normandy. Defeated allied army and bagged the whole lot due to lack of province to retreat to. Amounted to about 160,000 prisoners. Pretty cool.

for leaders being made from battle, it is random, you can get a 1 or a 2 star out of it, I have in the tests, gotten a number of 2 stars, so it does work, but being random it may take some time

(LOL Last game I got around 12 new Leaders in the first 3 years, this game, I think I have 2 in 3 years, so it evens out, plus numbers are smaller now, so not as many battle hit the sweet spot right now)

I believe Eric would say it is on the list :)
I had a idea we tossed around a bit and it seemed workable and decent, but other things are more importent and need to be fixed, reworked before that area of the list gets looked at (if it is even doable)

We did talk about leader improvement, both in terms of rank and also their stats as a result of combat.

One idea was to tie upgrades into a minimum number of leaders of each rank.

For instance, any nation with a certain level of culture qualifies for a minimum of one 4-star commander.

The minimum number of 3-star and 2-star commanders might be determined by a combination of barracks/culture/courts.

If a player ever fell below this minimum he could either promote a lower ranking commander, or else receive a randomly generated replacement.

This wouldn't be too hard to implement, and is something we are considering for a features patch.

Also, we could add in a option for promotion of a Leader when a campaign ends

LOL funny when I wrote about my leaders in my current game, I got 2 new Leaders in the next two months !!!!

I was kind of happy, as both were Great battles
