Still got to love the lose a war in a day

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Still got to love the lose a war in a day

Post by Hard Sarge »

I am France, been at war with England almost from the start

but, can't get to him, finally after a lot of years of waiting, I got a fleet, well, more like 3 Fleets

so had a battle off the southwestern part of France which allowed me to join my fleets, and then they move up the coast and into port in Flanders

I am able to move my Army Young Guards (nothing great, a 19 Div army with 1 or 2 Rifle Divs and a Guard Div, but it does have 2 Heavy Arty) and my Saxony Army (10 Divs, made up of Troops from Holland and Saxony)

I am able to remove one Corps from YG's and load it into a small Fleet, YG's goes into another Fleet and the 3rd Fleet is able to load the other Army

the landing comes as a shock to the English, and they are slow in responding, but by the time there Army is in place, my troops have all landed

602,000 English battle 242,000 French

the Gods of War are a fickle bunch, after prefect weather during the crossing, and giving me a great battle field to deploy in, it is raining, for 6 or 7 hours it rains, my edge in firepower is worthless, and my 8 Divs of Cav, have to hold there place, as they watch broken units stream by to either side

then around 2 o clock, the clouds part and the sun comes out, to watch the slaughter

Heavy Arty slams into the distant columns and lines of troops, arty and Horse arty adds to the din

the south and middle are soon a broken mess, but the north is still strong, and the English make a determined push into my flank, one French Div breaks, but the rest of the line holds, some quick movement and the reservse are in place, the line holds

senseing that the battle is about over, that the English have taken as much as they can take, the order is sounded to unleash the Cav, at the sight of the French horsemen, roaring down the hills and though the forests, is enough and the English have had there fill and the battle is over but for the slaughter

14 Divs surrender this day, 61,000 English pay the price

the It Army is on the way to Flanders, it will move across the channel in another month, and finish the war in England

Sarge,

Thanks for sharing the AAR. Frogs 1, jacks

"Win the war in an afternoon" illustrates that the game does generate accurate results.
Fourteen surrendered divisions mimics the Prussian debacle & disintegration and French pursuit at Jena-Auerstadt. I'm sure others can name more examples.

:)

2nd month of the early sealion

285,000 England attack 245,000 (I picked up a English Arty div last month)

LOL the Gods still like to play games with me

get the battle line all set, and the rains begin, the English are very heavy into a flanking move, but the sun comes out before it does them any good

44,000 English go down, with 8 more POW's taken

(STRANGE, two very LARGE battles back to back and no leaders made, dang I got robbed :)

the English see the folly of there ways, and give up

the next landing will be for good, TOTAL WAR on the English, if the war last that long

War the HARD way

Post by Hard Sarge »

been at war with England for a long time (the start of the post) but Russia is also at war with England, and it is like they know I can't do anything to them, so they been being a pain in the butt and just acting a fool, so I pushed my attack on England ahead of time, just so I could stop that war

the war with England was over fast !, get back to my lands and start to move some troops around

I take all of the English Provinces in Europe, and then DOW on Russia, this is going to be sweet, maybe I will even get my powerhouse Army into action (Shock)

the same month I go to war with Russia, is the time the English Cede the provinces to me, talk about timeing

the cossacks capture two of them before I even know they are mine ! (that is a 150 point bonus to the Russians)

1st months battles
68,000 vs my 154,000, they lose 26,000 and 7 Div's POW'ed
49,000 vs my 132,000, they lose 7400 (ran away before the battle started) 3 POW'ed
78,000 vs my 131,000, they lose 18,000 and 4 POW'ed
71,500 vs my 69,500 (oops) they lose 12,700
follow up attack same Armies
58,800 vs my 56,600 (there were other Div's in area) they lose 12,000 and 1 POW'ed

Morale drops from 1000, to 688 (should of been around 530, but for the ceded provinces)

Month 2
maining seiges, but a very nice trap is set and sprung, surround the Army that fought twice last month, then send in a Lancer Div, when the battle begins, I pull in the Army that had been following, only 5,900 lost, but all 7 Div's are taken POW

the main Russian Army outside of Russia is now gone

morale down to 591

month 3
ahhh, my other armies are in place and the treaty with Spain just ran out, so go to war with them also, want to clear them out of the East and the Balkins, NA

and while I am at it, will send my Armee Fin into Sweden to finish them off

Spain is at 1000 morale, Sweden is like -980

Russia, Smolensk, 43,000 vs 131,000, they lose 14,900 and 2 POW'ed

the Main Spainish Army in Turkey is trapped and crushed
61,000 vs 58,000, they lose 28,900 and 14 Div's are POW'ed

Odd Sweden sent it's Army out to fight me instead of defend, but that is what traps are for, 6200 of them are lost as are 2 Div's POW'ed

Russian Morale is down to 56, while Spain is now 516

Month 4
battle for Moscow
84,000 vs my 131,900, they lose 14,900 (ran as soon as the battle started, but I was going for blood and had rushed my Lancers forward and was able to chase) 4 POW'ed

mainly nothing but seiges now

Russian morale is -390, Spain is down to 191

Month 5
pretty much no Russian or Spainish Main Armies left, just Cossacks and Gurrilas

Russian morale is -665, Spain -261

Month 6
I spot what is left of the Russian Army, some 31,000 troops, I am able to rush in 3 Lancers from the north and have a close fought battle, but I lose, but Russia has no Army to fight with anymore

Russia surrenders
Spanish Morale is now -523

all of Russia's Balkin and Turkish province now belong to me

Spain will fall shortly, funny, Sweden is still kicking, but they are down to there last 10,000 or so troops, once they are done, so is Sweden

month 7
it is pretty much just sieges and gurrila killing, so not much to say

Spain Morale is -446

month 8
-572

month 9
-662

month 10
-739
Sweden is gone
I must be more tired then I thought (I work nights) I got some provinces from Russia, I let the Gurrilla's steal them from me (I had troops in them, forgot they get pushed out when the war ends)

also, forgot to brings my fleets down and block the ports, very little damage has been done to the Port cities of Spain

month 11
-816

month 12
-920

month 13
Spain surrenders
duh, I am able to take the 3 Turk proivnce Spain had

poor surrender

Turkey times has come, DOTW on them, 4 months later, no more Turkey

England's turn is next, but will take about 3 or 4 months to get my fleets back into place, wait for better weather, and then the party begins again

WOW, getting ready for the influx of new troops, I was able to begin the building of 3 Corps in Flanders this month !

LOL

I have yet to get my It Armee into action, but that will soon end, the It Armee is in Flanders training for the landing, Armee Fin is moving down the coast to join them and the Young Guards are moving up from Spain along with a standard Army

planning to land 2 Armies in Kent and 2 Armies in London this time around

for what ever reason when Turkey gave up, I got 12 Ships along with there cap, so that is another full fleet (hmmm, just so happens I got a Fleet with no ships sitting in Flanders)

as it stands now, I have 3 fleets with 310 ships, and 2 other fleets with 10 or 20 ships, and now the 120 Turks on the way

so, if all works as planned, I should be able to land around 44 Div's in the first wave
