repair orders are stopt after a turn

Post by spruce »

I have a division on repair order - the next turn the repair order is gone (the division didn't fight nor move).

How can I check they actually repaired that fort ?

I do not know about the Div

but click on the fort and look at the defence number in the middle of the screen at the bottom of the page, if it is good, it will say 100%, if not, it is not repaired all the way

sorry I forgot to mention the fort was not yet repaired (it went from 45% to 60%) and the repair order for the division seems to be canceled each turn ... still the province didn't see any enemies and was in my hands.

In general, orders get removed from the queue every turn.  If people find this annoying we may be able to change this in a patch, but it is working as designed right now.  Since it's an engineer order, military groups with this order are not allowed to move when they have the order set; we were a bit worried that if the order persisted, it'd be confusing for players not to be able to move units to which they'd given engineering orders in previous turns.  I'd like to get more feedback on this.

If it went from 45% to 60% then the division did repair 10% of that, since forts naturally "heal" 5% per turn.

Eric, I really think you should keep the repair order there. Forts are valuable assets and if you are able to pull one trough a siege - it needs to be repaired asap.

I wouldn't be bothered by the fact that my division is not moving when I want to - simply remove the repair order and the division is mobile again.

What bothers me more is that I was assuming the repairs were still going on - yet for 2 turns that was a missed opportunity. So I had to keep my division there for 2 more turns.

Making it more immobile - wait 2 extra turns - in comparison when it would have had the engineering order each turn.

Perhaps the solution might be to make engineering orders remain in effect, but have an advisory pop-up if someone tries to move a division/corps/army that is under an engineering order?

I believe there is a popup message when that happens.

yes Eric, you are correct. If you put the division on repair orders and try to move - you are not allowed to (which is fine imho).

But the problem remains that the next turn, the repair order is canceled. And in most cases a fortress needs about 4 turns to get fixed.
