I've only seen this once but one time a unit surrendered to me and didn't disappear right away. I didn't bother putting it back into command but I swear on the almighty that it fired on one of my units! And naturally my unit fired back at it. Ironically the surrendered unit did more damage than my unit firing back at it but hey, where's the MPs?!?!! Why didn't they confiscate their weapons at least! Naturally the surrendered unit then promptly disappeared before it could really feel the wrath of my brigades!

Units that surrender in detailed combat don't necessarily disappear right away.  I've never seen one fire though, and looking over the code it doesn't seem as though they would, but keep an eye out for it to see if it's really happening.

Tis ok, sometimes the casualty numbers repeat themselves after the map scrolls around but in this instance it was the computers turn and it looked like it specifically centered on the surrendered unit and it fired on me. I was more amused than anything but thought I'd report it.
