One off games

Post by HangingSlider »

I purchased PS2007 last year during the summer sale but haven't played much with it, so I'm still a newbie at this.

I'm wondering if this game is really for me. I'm not that interested in season replays or career replays or draft leagues.

What I'd like to do to pick a couple of teams and just play a few games or a series with them, managing both teams. I'd love to spend an evening playing the 49 Yankees vs. 2004 Red Sox, or the 55 Dodgers vs. 69 Mets.

I haven't figured out how to go about it or if PS will even allow me to do this.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Slider, I know for a fact that you can do this in PSB. I've personally never done that (though I've toyed with playing the '97 WS Marlins vs. the '03 WS Marlins...) so I can't give you step-by-step instructions, but this is do-able without a doubt. In fact, it's something that Shaun's discussed often.

You can pick two teams from anywhere in baseball history and play a series of games (you chose the number of games from pre-determined sets) with them going at each other. I'll peek around and see if I can give you some direction on it.

Okay, I went in and you can do it from Sandbox mode. After you select the finances and such, you'll reach the Association Format screen. From there, you select the following option:
