Edit saves, changing date?

UFO: Extraterrestrials is a futuristic real-time/turn-based strategy blend set on the fictional planet of Esperanza in 2025. Having made a bloody first contact with a strange form of life from another planet, the player is thrust into the tough position of leading the defense of this isolated planet against the never-ending assault of these hostile invaders

Edit saves, changing date?

Basically, I screwed up and need to change the date in my save so I don't get pwned by cruisers. I suppose it's cheating, but I'm in a tough spot right now. Thx.

Using the Xbig app I was able to look at my saves.... If I looked at it right, my next era isn't coming until October... (Perhaps because of my slow pace?). I tried to change it, and the game crashes when trying to load the saves... Even if I made simple changes such as changing my money.
