Salute to the Canadians, whose great Grandfathers fought one of the first successful [arguably, I'm sure] Allied actions of WW1: Vimy Ridge.

And to the Canadians, whose Grandfathers, by their sacrifice at Dieppe, helped make D-Day in Normandy the success it was.

And to the Canadians today serving in Afghanistan.

Yeah, don't you remember WWII? When you guys were getting the crap kicked out of you, we're the ones that came over and saved your buts before the Americans woke up. [:D]

See Mantill's remarks.

Anyway, Canada has it's points. I seem to recall they had the world's third largest navy by 1945. Impressive for a nation of around twenty million inhabitants- but I suppose most of the alternatives had been knocked out of the running in the preceeding six years.

True. However, this is mostly us trying to make ourselves feel better. That third largest navy was all Corvets. [:D]
