Guarding Lines Option

Post by target762 »

I enjoy baseball, but I never learned all the stratergy behind the game. I understand all the other batter/pitcher options except this one. Under what conditions and what takes place for tne "Guarding Lines" Option to be useful?

Thanks

It's most useful when you're expecting a bunt, either a sacrifice or a bunt for a bit. It's also very handy when you're trying to prevent ground balls hit down the first or third base lines from turning into extra base hits. The risk, of course, is that it leaves the middle ionfienders to cover more ground, making you more vulenrable to ground balls through the middle turning into base hits.

"Charging the Lines" is what you do when you KNOW there's got to be a bunt coming and you want the best chance of making the play You want as opposed to the one the hitter does.

Thanks,
Is there any way of looking at a batters Ratings to get a feel for where he might hit?
