After just their 4th day after arriving in the PI, the 16th and 56th Divisons are now released for redeployment to Luzon.
With Bombur dispersing the American/Philippino troops all over Luzon, a decision is made to revise the OOB for Luzon and attempt to pin the Allied troops down in their dispersed positions in order to destroy them piecemeal. Bombur has approximately 37,000 troops in Manila, 12,000 in Clark, 13,000 in Lamon Bay, 6,000 in Naga, 6,000 in Lucena, 6000 in Baguio and 4 LCUs in Baguio.
2nd Division is diverted to Lingayen to join 48th Division and 65th Brigade in a drive on Clark Field, 16th Division is sent to Legaspi to join 21st Division in a drive on Manila, 56th Division is sent to Lamon Bay to pin the 13,000 Allied troops there, and Shuzan Naval Guards and 7th Tank Regiment are ordered to pin down the 6000 Allied troops at Baguio.
56th Brigade is ordered to assault Davao tomorrow and a NLG is investing Cotabato.
Mindanao is reduced in less than a week.
