cambrai help!

Post by mtodd »

I take Bourlon on turn 3, which according to scenario notes means that the German counter attack should not happen.

But from turn 6 onwards the Germans seem to be remorseless in counter attacking (especially from turn 11). I just about hang on for a draw.

I no player expert, but should I be having so much trouble given that I took Bourlon so early (thereby not suffering any British troop withdrawals, thereby no counter attack)?

Any helpful info appreciated.

Many thanks.

Here is the exact statement from the briefing about that:

"If the British triggered withdrawals do not occur it will be unlikely that the German player will be able to launch his counterattack."

There certainly is no guarantee that the counterattack will not occur, just that it is unlikely without the British withdrawals. Capturing Bourlon meant that the withdrawals did not occur. From there, it is up to you to capitolize on that advantage.
