Alliances with minors?

Post by scotswahay »

I am playing Austria and have found myself allied to Bavaria, (not sure how!!!), does this allow me to 'control' Bavaria? if it does I cannot work out how, I cannot build anything in the eco phase or place the Bavarian corps.

Being allied seems more of a hinderance than a benefit, I cannot seem to place depots anywhere in Bavaria, are there any benefits?

Many thanks

Steve,

No control over an allied minor country but if another major power declared war on Austria, Bavaria would join in support allowing you to setup Bavaria and then control it (section 6.1.3 Ally Minor Countries). Also, if another major power declared war on Bavaria while they were either influenced or Allied to Austria, Bavaria would be given to Austria to setup and control (section 6.1.2 Influenced Minor Countries) without the need for to roll for control (section 6.6.4 Selecting The Controlling Major Powers)
