Thank you!

Hi all,

I wanted to take a minute and register with your forums so I could thank you for bringing back the Close Combat series. I honestly had no idea that you had done this until a few days ago, but it was a wonderful discovery (I was searching amazon.com for an older Close Combat game I had lost when I found Cross of Iron and Modern Combat).

I had thought this series (one of my favorites of all time) was dead, and it was a very pleasant suprise to find it isn't. Judging from a glance at a few forums, it seems like there might even be a Close Combat 6 in the works. I certainly hope this is true!

I bought a few copies of both COI and Modern Tactics. They've made great belated xmas gifts for some friends that are stuck inside lately, and we've all had a blast fighting each other over the weekend.

About all I can say is that if you keep making these, I'll keep buying them. They really are a class of their own (and one of the few games I've never had a problem getting someone interested in, for that matter).

I'll have to check back here periodically and see if there are any updates on new games/revisions. I sure hope to find them!

Thanks so much!
Paxton

The CC series is like a patient and determined women. She will let you leave for a while, but always entices you back. And when you do go back, and we all know that we will, she once again sinks those claws of infatuation and intrigue in even deeper than the last time.

"It's only 1 in the morning and I don't have to be up until 6. There are still three meaningless holding action battles in the campaign until I can see if my desperate heroes can plug the gap. If I don't fight it tonight, I will be thinking about it all day tomorrow at work!"

CC knows and CC understands. She knows she will get from you what she wants and feels that she deserves and also understands what it will cost you, but she doesn't care. She also know that you are addicted; that is her power and her lure that makes you fight just one more battle and then maybe just one more before you can't get it up or together anymore.

Hooked you are and hooked you will always be. You will walk down the street and think; "AT gun behind that building with LOS up the street, MG's there and there. Infantry over behind that building and up in that one on the corner." You can't help it. CC will become your life and then what use is there for a wife?

You were warned, weren't you? Well, if not, you're already a gonner.
C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la guerre.
