Crash of game left process running

Yesterday while I was task switching out of the game, PZCK stopped responding and I had to use Task Manager to shut it down. I then reloaded the game and it hung inside the game after a few minutes. Using Task Manager to shut it down again, I restarted the game a second time, only to have it hang as it was drawing the map. It drew the tiles, some trees, infantry and the tank tracks. Using Task Manager to shut down the game a third time, I noticed that I had three separate PZCK processes running at the same time. Obviously, ending the PZCK program did not stop the process.

I was unable to duplicate the sequence of failures so I do not have a saved game to send, but I wanted to at least bring this issue up.
