Campaign Problem

Post by Troy6677 »

Hi Erik:

Playing the 1st Panzer Division Long campaign. Toward the end of the 3rd scenario the tactical screen suddenly turned white. I could complete the scenario but the next scenario will not load. When loading the game freezes up when it is toward the end of "loading units" just before it loads the sounds.

Have you seen this problem before? I have upgraded to v1.01.

Thanks for your help.

I had something similar due to an incomplete 1.01h patch, most probably caused by McAfee - I was missing unit info that was required for the next battle. You may want to try re-installing the update with all virus checkers etc. switched off.

Good luck,

Hi FNG:

I saw your post on that and I tried re-installing the v1.01 patch with my virus software turned off but still no luck.

The strange white overlay on my tactical map at the end of the 3rd scenario is what I think caused the problem.

Hi Mark,

Playing the 1st Panzer Division Long campaign. Toward the end of the 3rd scenario the tactical screen suddenly turned white.

This is rare, but in each case where I've seen it happen, it's been due to a driver glitch. Restarting the game and sometimes just Alt-Tabbing should resolve it.
I could complete the scenario but the next scenario will not load. When loading the game freezes up when it is toward the end of "loading units" just before it loads the sounds.

That sounds like it's trying to load a unit that doesn't exist. I don't think it's related to the white out you saw. Could you zip up and e-mail me your Data/Scenarios and Data/Campaigns folder please?

The white "field" overlay has popped up for me a various occasions, sometimes I can scroll or zoon to get rid of it, but usually end up saving and restarting. But it's never bothered the game loading (or playing for tha matter - beyond the obvious).

Hi Erik:

Thanks. The Alt-Tab cleared up the white overlay problem. The files you asked for are on the way.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Mark,

I found the problem. I missed a file in the new official KV-2 unit for the v1.01 update and this is causing the issue for you, since it's in the next scenario. If you install it from the post here, you should be able to continue your campaign without a problem. I'll have a fix for this posted by the end of the week.
