Titan-AT/Pilot campaign choices

Post by rosary »

WOuld you like to pick your Titan-AT or have us choose for you? Or have both options open. The reason I ask is one method ( If we pick the titan/pilot it will make campaigns quicker while you would be required to design, repair, level up your pilot etc, . . .) I tend to think that creating your own pilots and designing your own Titan-AT's would provide the most fun but would an option for us to just take care of that for you be worthwhile?

For the campaign, I think it's better if you pick for us. In that way, we may be exposed to certain titans with weapon/electronic allocations that we may never use. (Some people don't like missiles, some people love shields, etc.) In this way, it would allow us to train with things we're not normally used to, and perhaps improve our skill as players. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

I agree with Lyhrrus. In the campaign modes, the titan used should be set by the game. That makes it all the more challenging as well as forcing us to use titans we might not normally.
We sometimes catch a window
A glimpse of what's beyond
Was it just imagination
Stringing us along?
More things than are dreamed about
Unseen and unexplained
We suspend our disbelief
And we are entertained

How hard would it be to do both? Have a set of pre-generated jocks and the option to create your own. My personal preference is creating my own they feel more personal that way.

I am definitly for creating my own jokes, cause I remember the Battletech campaign " Black Widow Company" that wasn't really fun cause of teh predesigned mechwarrior.

For the Titans ( Am I the only one thta just find it awfullyhard not to call them 'mach, 'mech or gears ? ), well for the titans I'd rather let the campaign designer choose and equip them.

For the jokes , he can also preset somethings like amout of skill point , race , skill limitation. Just enough to have a guideline but still leave place for customisation.

You can call them Titan-AT, Titans, TOS. We'll know what you're talking about. If you use those other words. I'm afraid we'll still probably know what you're talking about. Its' o.k.

For the campaigns, I am considering using the standard options. So you can use a standard team that you have built Titans included or use a Random Team option. I think that should cover most bases. The benefit of using your own team is that you can use your own designs and pilots. If you use the Random teams you will also get random titans. That may not necessarily be a bad thing. How does that sound?

It would be fun if the titan depended on the difficulty level. If you choose a harder level you get a titan which isn't as suited to the job.

The standard option of create-your-own or default teams is a pretty good idea. It will give the new game more of that RPG feel that a lot of us enjoy about the original.

The difficulty level for default teams sounds interesting. A light titan versus two or more mediums sounds like a challenge to me...

I normaly stay on Spwaw furom and play it. But this game has some nice elements.

I say go with campaign styl eplay as well as person vs person or teams vs people etc. Thats what made steel pantyhers series a legend.

Combine that with building you own units and jocks and this game Could be a serious contender.
