A few questions?

WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

A few questions?

Post by fthein »

Hi

after playing the game a few hours i must say it is a really nice game. I had low expectations after playing the alpha demo but because of the strong Euro i buyed it. And i have not regret it. Sure it is far from being perfect at the moment but i am sure you will be improving it in the future. But i have a few questions which someone of you can maybe answer.

- How can i move a Fleet around Africa to Egypt?

- Are partisans in Russia included?

- How can i starve out Britain with my submarines? Britain has no resource convoys running

- Can i move the troops of my allies after they join my alliance even when i not make the country human controlled at the start of a scenario?

Thanks
Frank

Is the AI any good? This game came out as a suprise (nice one at that) - I didnt even know it existed until today.

I haven´t played enough to judge if the ai is good or not. But in the preference screen there is a option to choose the AI Thread Priority. I don´t know what this mean.

- How can i move a Fleet around Africa to Egypt?

Currently there is no mechanism to do this. You have to capture Gibraltar to move the fleet to Mediterraean sea.
- Are partisans in Russia included?

No, but this is actually nice idea, it can be modelled with an event. (Same for Yugoslavian partisans). Expect this in next patch :)
- How can i starve out Britain with my submarines? Britain has no resource convoys running

You're right, currently there aren't any resource convoys to Great Britain, but again, we'll add Lend-lease events and make GB and USSR more dependent on convoys.
- Can i move the troops of my allies after they join my alliance even when i not make the country human controlled at the start of a scenario?

You can't. However, you can press F1 and this will open a 'cheat' dialog that alows changing between human/AI control for each country. It also allows editing current PP and DP for each country :)

greetings, thanks for the info, i was not at knowledge about the cheat trick, i think when/if pbem and tcp/ip is implemented this optional must be optional or may discourage multiplayer play, aside this, it is a good enhancement,

best regards,

alarick.
