Next patch?

WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

Next patch?

Post by Sukaba »

I still consider the game unplayable and I’m therefore quite disappointed. [:@]
When can I expect the next and hopefully playable patch to be released? [&:]

Hello Sukaba, did you managed to change the unit's names, cause I didn't have a response from you.

Next patch (1.21) is at the corner and the issue you have reported is repaired.
I think it will become public within two weeks from now.

Thanks for the update. Question, will the patch render ongoing games unplayable? I have a recently started PBEM game (currently preparing for the attack on the Low Countries).

That was indeed an in-depth explanation of what is rendering the game unplayable...

Mike I must say that the changes are quite large (and in PBEM too) so you probably will have to start new game.
Of course you can try to add new files to your save game and tweak version number, but I'm not going to take a responsibility for that.

Thanks for responding. When the patch comes out I will consult my opponent and see if we want to hold off on the patch for our game or restart.

I'll be honest with you.
This time there are only some tweaks and fixes for AI.

We are plannning that the next patch is going to be focused over AI

It really is going to come down to how well the AI is improved. I would guess that the vast majority want to play this game solo, and if the AI is going to be weak then these solo players will be lost. There is great promise with this game, spend the resources to get the AI competitive. I think we all did a reasonable job beta testing this game for you, reward us with a outstanding product. [/font]

It's been a couple of weeks.  Just wondering, do you still intend to release the patch very soon?

(personally I wouldn't mind if you waited till you have done the AI improvements, but ....)

today we have finished fixing latest problems found in the patch.

Works with the improving of AI has already begun and some major changes has been implemented, but we won't include it in 1.21 because we would like to test it and it really needs some more time that the changes we already made for 1.21.
