Q1W1 SUBMARINE KILLER (lol)

Post by Japan »

I remember you mantioned that the AE would have more aircrafts reperesented, and also that the database will be more accurate ect. For this reason I wounder if:

The Kyushu Q1W Tokai 'Submarine Killer' will be reperesented in AE ?? -- The Only "real" Air Submarine Killer the Japs had right looool, It must be the best thay had right?? lol
With a standard load of 2x 551 lbs Death Charges or a maximum load of 4x 551 lbs Death Charges, it had nice speed and was considered as a good Submarine Killer.

Kyushu Hikoki Produced 7 prototypes and a total of 145 planes for opperational use.

Is the famus Kyushu Q1W Tokai reperesented in AE?

Of the 41 US submarines lost to direct enemy action, six have been conclusively identified as having been sunk by enemy air action ALONE. More were lost to mines.

So much for Japanese aircraft being "submarine killers". The Tokai is in the game, along with every other Japanese aircraft, Army or Navy.

Jap intelligence was so poor, BTW, that they recorded sinking 468 US submarines during the whole war.

They may not be killers, but if this were WITP stock it would , at least, give me a place to put some of the 456 Hitachi engines my "management" practices have amassed... [&:]

IIRC we researched the LORNA during playtesting for RHS, and could not find a single case of it ever having attacked (let alone sunk) an Allied sub.

That's because it didn't. Even if we didn't know this, "Japan's" endorsement would be enough to discredit it.

why do you think it is sad they didn´t kill any? What kind of strange guy are you? The war is long ago and no matter if you are pro Axis or pro Allied, thinking that it is sad that one side didn´t lose hundreds or thousands of soldiers more is just

Well sir castor troy, what i mean is that its sad thay had this fine aircraft, or so thay sayed, and it had 0 kills or nerely 0 kills. Sad thay could missdudge it so badly, if you translate from Japanese thay called it with nickname "submarines deaths".

Its "sad" as waste of resourses, i think it is mind bothering that a nation, any nation, can do so extreamly poor as i think real world Germany and real world Japan actualy did.  With the large indistrual capabilety those two nations had combined, with the military tradition, and tecnical skill, fanatesism and nationalism,  "easy ledership" as there being no or almost none opposition to resist political decissions, I faind it "sad" that nations of this sort and type can do so "poorly" as thay actualy did, Poorly when you take into consideration the grerat potential this nations had, for example as an Allience.
Im not pro anything i think, only trying to understand how nations of this sort can "screw up" an exellent oppertunety to rule large parts of the world. Having in this case Japan making what thay say is "this great aircraft" and "it killed this and that many subs" but the faqct then semes to be that it is not a great subkiller anyway... is maind bothering, its below what i think is the intended standard of this countrys.

IMHO sir, fact is, and will always be, that this nations who i think is no better or no worse then any other nation,
had a great oppertunity and screwed it up, and many died for no reason.

Nations like the Red Devil comed out in the end at the winning side, but so did also the western countrys.
Could it been different? I dont know, but I regardless think the Axis nations wasted something who could be, or was a great oppertunity for them.

Where?

The Tokai was no "submarine killer". It achieved absolutely nothing.

lol well with  Only   6 Subs killed by aircraft  i dont thik thay had any submarine killer...
but if you ask them, i think thay would say that the  Q1W was "the ASW aircraft"... with a large amount of ASW Ordenence, but aigan with only 6 kills....    I think personaly it was  US Radar on the US Subs who denyed the Jap ASW planes the sucsess...  [&:]

Not really. I think the majority of the kills are credited to other aircraft. IIRC the closest case was a sub that reported being attacked and suffering hits and never came back to port. Dont remember the details. Sorry. [:(]

Edit: The instance I referred to is the Scamp, presumed sunk on Nov. 11 1944. However, the few sources I have on the matter point to mines more than aircraft.

Japan had a "great opportunity and screwed it up" and was "no better or worse than other nations"? Seek professional help, either for your addiction to being a troll or for your pathological need to be a revisionist.

Enough of this. You asked an AE question, I answered it. We're done.

Please Terminus, sir - i think that one was a bit far, im definetly not a revisionist sir,  i appology you got that impression.
My intress of WW2 is strictly the Military aspect of it, and the military potentials. WW2 Politics nor modern politics is not something i use so much time on.

I do however feel it is a ok statement to say that nations like Germany as well as Soviet are both "equally bad", or to say that none of them are worse then the other. I also think it is ok to say that nations like France conducted alot of "bad" actions in its Africen Colonies, and so did the Britts in the 30's in India, and so does China, USA and Russia today.
This is of course not evan close to what Germany and Soviet did, but still i think we shall not forget about it when comparing countries.

As far as I am conserned there are countrys who obay human rights, and there are countrys who don't, - as far as im conserned, there is nothing in between.
This is my opinion and it counts for the 1930's as well as for today.
I hope this does not make me a revisionist.

The Lorna was the first purpose built ASW aircraft used by the Japanese IIRC.

Just because a plane never hurt anybody, that does not make it a bad plane.
