Variable Event Occurence

WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

Variable Event Occurence

Post by cpdeyoung »

One of the changes I would love to see is for more randomness in the events. For example I would like the Soviets to start with one chance in a hundred of exercising the production growth option. Each turn this chance would grow greater. This would stop the Germans from pulling the troops away from the eastern border, and not returning there till summer 1941. I would like this parameter, the "chance" factor to be applied to all time related events, including "Pearl Harbor" etc. I would love it if you allowed player access to this factor so we could set up scenarios with a "hair trigger" Italy, for example.

If you delivered the game set as it is now, but allowed us to modify this it would be fantastic. I have played this game so much that I would love to vary that Barbarossa date somewhat. This would be of great value to frequent player, in my opinion!

I think we may use this method in some events :)

Code: Select all

METHOD:
 System.GetRandomNumber (int minRange, int maxRange)

 DESCRIPTION:
Returns a random number from given range. MaxRange should not exceed 2^16
