19390901 : It has come to this, war or dishonor! The continuing provocations of the Polish, and their western backers, demand a response and we must rise to the challenge. Poland's neighbors, the Soviets and ourselves, cannot allow this flaunting of their alliance with the West to continue. We will lead with the attack, and the Soviets will follow later. Once we remove the Polish agents, perhaps the French and British will stop their resistance to the mild revision of territories we propose.
Gary and I have reversed roles, with the same rule set as in RtW.
19391201 : The Armée de l'Air and RAF have launched missions against our ground troops, and the interceptions of same have cost us expensive air SPs. We did hurt them too, however. We will be getting ready for our Spring campaigns, and until some action occurs we will hold off posting.
19400301 : We are now ready to begin our campaign. We do not have near the power we would wish but we have two big tasks to accomplish : we want to secure the Baltic, by capturing Copenhagen, and we want to capture Amsterdam before the British can get a foothold in th Netherlands.
Some notes on the campaign thus far : The Polish campaign went well, except for the loss of the Panzer division. The air losses when the Allies made their attacks were painful, but we took them in stride. Having to expend the landing craft necessary to capture Copenhagen was costly, but acceptable.
The quick capture of Amsterdam was a coup. We waited until we had the proper force structure for this blitz, and it worked very well. The northern border of Belgium is now exposed, which should concern Gary a bit. We intend to build more strength, then begin the big campaign.
We intend to contest the sea battle with the Allies, and want very much to capture France, and then bring Spain in to gain Gibraltar. We want to make the British pay for any advances they wish to make in North Africa. At this point we will do what it takes to prevent Allied shipments to the Soviets, and even to isolate Great Britain. The campaign in France is going to be time critical.
We need things to go very well for us, and against Gary that will not be a given, no, not at all.
19430316 : Licking our wounds. We are going to attack the French, perhaps after a wait to build up forces a bit more. Our air needs replacements, and we would love more panzers. We have not seen the British yet, and the war is in its very early stages.
19400501 : We chose to drive through Luxembourg and take the resource center. We now have three Panzer Korps, at great expense. Our Luftwaffe took three SPs in losses this turn.
19400516 : The Italians entered the war, and promptly fell back in North Africa and in the mountains near France. The Germans continued their advance into France.
19400524 : The Germans entered the French capital, and we are willing to offer an armistice, but will the French accept? The Italians see no British or French anywhere in North Africa.
19400601 : We offered the French a neutral state based on Vichy, but they rejected this and decided to fight on. We have pushed our forces forward, expecting a confrontation near Marseilles. We need to reduce Metz also. The Italians have found powerful British forces in the desert. They are very well equiped and speedy. We are ready to defend, but not to push forward yet.
19400616 : We are forced by outrages in the Baltic countries to declare war on each of them. Police forces have been sent to East Prussia to enforce order there. In France we drive on Marseilles and take Metz. We occupy Gibraltar with Spanish forces as the British peacefully pull down their colours, and abandon this vestige of Imperial ambition.
19400624 : Marseilles has fallen. The Soviet Union says they will protect our interests in the Baltic states. They have annexed Latvia and Lithuania, but the bandit state of Estonia continues to flaunt their defiance. The Soviets have refused our requests for passage across their newly occupied territory. These unfriendly actions will be considered.
