PBEM

Post by New York Jets »

As there is little to no information on setting up and transferring PBEM games in the rules, I have a few questions.

Do the files need to be zipped?

Exactly which file(s) do I send?

What is the procedure to follow to load and play the incoming turn?

This is the first game I have seen in years that does not include anything on PBEM play in the rules.

A little help would be appreciated.

PBEM instructions (I believe this is included in the manual, but here we go)
1. USA / Hungary starts the game in PBEM mode (Player 1 = P1)
2. P1 provides password (prompted by game)
3. P1 makes his turn
4. P1 hits END TURN - game automatically saved (prompt for save name) with a prefix of PBEM
5. P1 sends saved game to P2
6. P2 loads game in PBEM mode
7. P2 is prompted for his password
8. P2 replays turn by pressing space (each space replays 1 visible action)
9. P2 executes turn
10. P2 hits END TURN, game prompts for name and game is saved
etc.

We recommend to save each turn under a different name, eg: t1, t2, etc.
