It’s the 1st turn the F39 and I’m the Allies. Germany has taken Poland with little effort. One damaged artillery. Germany has the bulk of its forces in Western Germany ready to strike the Low Countries or even Eastern France. Germany didn’t invade Denmark however, leaving the entire German fleet with a bomber and fighter flying CAP exposed.
My first decision as the WA was the possibility of striking the German fleet a mortal blow right off the bat since Denmark was left alone. First off, I did a little sub recon. I found all the supplies I could and went in with 4 heavy fleets and one veteran light fleet. The result was devastation. Germany lost a transport and a light fleet. It’s heavy fleet was damaged and so was its other light fleet. Two German transports escaped to Western Germany. The WA suffered damage to a 1 heavy fleet and that’s a nice trade off to say the least.
Two heavy fleets stayed in the Baltic Sea and I moved my light fleet back to the Scottish sea and moved one heavy fleet to the sea off of Norway. Ska… something I believe. Sure, those heavy fleets are sitting ducks but now they have to be dealt with using Germany’s air power. I figured it would be well worth it. It will be difficult for Germany to move supplies and fighting units East without those transports in the Baltic. In addition there’s no way to get resources from Sweden. The German player will have to spend precious resources repairing his fleet if he wants one.
I bulked up Eastern France with all its Militia an extra art. and flak from Western France in case Germany goes for it next turn.
Japan took Foochow. I decided to move a Chinese factory from Changsa to Kunming and repaired it. Japan moved 4 heavy fleets to the S. China Sea. That could spell doom for the Commonwealth in the future.
That’s it for turn one. I'd like to post a pic but I'm still trying to figure out how to do it.
Allies Turn Two. France decides to retake the Low Countries and ends up doing a little damage. An art. damaged and one destroyed. One flak is damaged. The combat analyzer said I should have gotten six units. Liar! The Germans can walk into Paris.
39 Fall Germany took TLC with one Inf damaged. One UK HF is damaged near Norway and the other 2 HF blocked in Baltic Sea(If they dont go home our bombers will help them[:D]).
40 Winter Germany turn, France falled with no lose.
Some UK fleets were bombed. Seems WA want to hold the Med without the help of Fleets.[:-]
One thing to note is Russia steals lots of techs from everyone.[:(]
China govement implied a non resistence policy, they evacuated the front line with Japan and also their factory.
Now they taste the result --- Japan entered Changsha with no lose and probably next turn take their capital.
Allies T3. As I figured the Germans take W. France. Italy doesn’t join, yet. I’m very happy about that by the way. Much of the French fleet fights on and retreats to England! The German fleet is rebuilt with one heavy and one light fleet with a total of 4 transports. Sea Lion is a possibility. I move troops to England. God save the Queen! The big surprise is a Japanese invasion of inner China! Changsa falls with no damage to the Japanese. The Soviets bolster China with supplies. Without supply China would surly fall. Now the Chinese can ramp up production. I hope it helps.
Allies 4. China fends off the Japanese and they continue to be mired in Changsa. Chinese factories ramp up. Funny how all the excitement is in Asia until now… In Europe, the WA see the futility of holding North Africa and retreat due to Italian and German Armor force which can’t be stopped. Yes the Italians are Axis. The Germans took out Yugoslavia and the Romanians join the axis too. The Hungarians rebuff German diplomatic efforts in joining the axis formally. They figure if the Germans can’t even hold the Baltic how can they active victory? This is quite fortunate since it will further slow German deployments East. The Germans continue to build transports in W. Germany. Who needs subs when you got transports, right? Only one German sub as far as I can tell. It’s quite an expensive diversion, those transports. I need to keep the UK in the fight. The Baltic Expeditionary Force with two heavy fleets is keeping the German’s from trading with the Finns and Swedes. Not to mention the German’s have to transport everything by rail.
Allies 5. The Germans are getting supplies from Scandinavia. Cairo has fallen and Ethiopia reinforced. Germany ready to invade Russia. One Chinese factory is gone. Not much I can do. The USA is seriously considering sanctioning Japan for incursions in China. I can’t slow down the momentum.
Allies 6. The Germans are planning something with so many forces near Soviet borders. Stalin is sure his allies would never attack him. There is very little tactical bomber support for the Germans and going into winter there will most likely be a delay in the Great Patriotic War. The German’s has the lion’s share of it’s fighters in Western France. The valiant efforts of the Baltic blockade have come to an end. Bombed out. One damaged and one destroyed. They did their job at least.
