A Very Good Nights' Sleep ?

Post by motnahp »

20-team association, multiplayer, with all teams under human control. All 20 teams played games on Tuesday, July 31st. When I went to each roster to AutoAdjust on August 1st, I noticed that ALL pitchers and ALMOST ALL position players were "Feeling Great". The only ones not "opening day fresh" were a few starting catchers.

I'm talking about EVERY team and EVERY pitcher! Weird. Anyone else seen anything similar?

"...all teams under human control." THIS might be the problem. I've never played in this fashion. I'm thinking that the AI routines/fatigue recovery might get confused in that sort of configuration.

Personally, I've never tested the game's limitations on league setups. I have ONE human-controlled team and all others handled by the AI. I try to keep within reasonable historic parameters. So far, I've not seen many anomalies.

This is NOT meant as criticism, motnahp. However, the game's routines probably assume a certain level of realistic usage on the part of the user. Outside of these parameters, some strange results may occur.

I've used this setup many times, but not in the last couple of years. There's some tie-in here with the trade deadline. I don't remember seeing this in the past, so it must've come in some time in the last few releases.

It's certainly not a show-stopper, just akin to one of those pesky gnats that fly around one's ear.

Different season now:

Following the scheduled games of May 28th, the AI evaluated every player in the league (I could see the count...."100 players evaluated"......."200 players evaluated"....etc.)

After this evaluation, EVERY pitcher on EVERY team was feeling great and at 100%. It did not affect the hitters. No big deal, really, as only the bullpens are affected. It's just another strange thing that might need attention before the new game is released.

I guess this does NOT relate to the trade deadline.

It is kind of a big deal, though, if it's affecting your starting pitchers. Are they all at 100%, as well?

ALL pitchers went to 100%, but the AI keeps them in the same order. If the #4 or #5 starter was scheduled to pitch, he still takes his normal turn.
