Similar Game?

Post by decaro »

I once owned a game called "Squad Assault: Second Wave" which had a CC approach to gameplay as well as similar scenarios to what's now described in CC5.

If anyone is familiar w/SASW, and if so, are these games similar in scope and gameplay?

Joe,

Close Combat: The Longest Day has nothing to do with Squad Assault, though it's true that Eric Young was involved in both the original CC5 and Squad Assault. This release is done by a different team and whereas Squad Assault tried to do Close Combat in 3D, this sticks to the original 2D Close Combat style.

Not all that different. Similar in scope and scenarios. Gameplay similar in design, differing in look (3D v 2.5D) and feel.

One other similarity: Both .EXE's state "This program can not be run in DOS mode". [:D]
C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la guerre.
