New York
The season is about to get under way and the New York Yankees are already engulfed in turmoil. Slugging outfielder, Babe Ruth, is reportedly very unhappy about his contract. Ruth signed a new 3 yr deal @ $15,197 per yr in January. It seems now he wants it renegotiated because St. Louis Cardinals 2nd baseman Rogers Hornsby signed a new 4 yr deal @ $16,617 per yr this week. Ruth said in a statement that "I hit the ball harder and farther than "that kid" and deserve more money". When Ruth was informed that some pitchers in the league are making more money than he is, he responded by saying "They are pitchers, I am no longer a pitcher. If i were still pitching we would be having this conversation about one of them". Hornsby and the Cardinals had no comment. The Yankees declined to be interviewed.
We will keep an eye on this story as the season progresses !

Let's go Dodgers, er, Robins! The name change was in honor of the team's manager, Wilbert Robinson.

Wheat was cheated. Someone else should've been put in to pinch hit.

Washington, D.C.
A rumor has been circulating in Washington D.C. that Yankees GM Ed Barrow has been in contact with Senators Owner Clark Griffith about a possible trade involving 26 yr old LF Bing Miller and 25 yr old lefty starter Tom Zachary. Rumor has it that these 2 players, especially Zachary may be key components in a deal that involves an undisclosed Yankee player. This story has yet to be confirmed. But, could the player be Babe Ruth ??? We will see !!

Babe Ruth with Goose Goslin and Sam Rice? That would be quite an outfield! Maybe the Senators would go on to dominate the roaring 20's instead of just winning a couple of pennants.
I'm enjoying this one, keep it up!! [:)]

New York
The New York Yankees, entrenched in 4th place, 10 games back pulled off 2 major deals today. The long anticipated trade involving disgruntled slugger Babe Ruth {.337/27/66} has become a reality. He was sent, along with 24 yr old pitcher Ken Holloway {0-0/0.00} to the Washington Senators for 25 yr old pitcher Tom Zachary {7-10/3.82} and outfielder Bing Miller {.256/6/38}. Zachary will become the 4th starter. Ruth was "glad for the move" and is ready to help his new team. He is expected to be in Chicago today in time for the Senators game Thursday vs. the Whitesox.
The Yankees also pulled off another deal as well. They sent 1st baseman Wally Pipp {.320/3/42} to the Cubs for 2nd baseman Bob Barrett {.251/2/25 AAA}. This opens the door for 18 yr. old phenom 1st baseman Lou Gehrig
