Will I like this game?

I see that a major upgrade is coming. I have never played any of the previous versions.
I love Steel Panthers and have played it almost every year since it was released. I especially love the campaign aspect. I bought the origional CM but never really warmed up to it and have never considered any of the sequels. Its been many years, but I think it was the combat system that I was not thrilled with compared to Steel Panthers.

Another question is will this game play on Windows 7 64bit without any issues?

Finally, I live in a dial-up only area of the country, so will the game with updates be available in hard copy? Download only will probably take this game off the table for me.

Well, it's hard to know if you would like this game system. It does have some similarities to CM, that seems to be the game that most compare it to. I think this game plays nice. I was a BIG steel Panthers fan, from the original Steel Panthers version.

This game does have a campaign mode that you might enjoy, though it could be a little easier to "personalize" the campaign.

I'm sure this will be available in hard copy. Erik R. posted a message in another thread that the plans are to release an Anthology collection with the lastest updates, so that might be of interest. I think if you buy the CD version right now, you would need to download the megaupdate thats nearing completion. (and it would probably be a sizeable download).

But to your original question. I would review the threads and check out screen shots. There is a demo of the first title, but I dont think it does justice to the system.

I'm pretty sure the updated version runs with Window 7 64bit, though not sure that the unpatched version does (at least not all the tools).

I enjoy the system, I'm an old Squad Leader fan from way back, and this system gets me closest to that feel as any I've played.
