Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Speed

Ive noticed some units move fast over some terrain to a distance that would be impossible in a ONE Minute time frame. They looked to be leg infantry. I was zoomed in about 50% of the way. Is this normal or are my eyes deceiving me? Last but not least what is the scale of distance and or relief.

Oh yea by the way I have the game set to its lowest speed.....It looks as if some units that are not motorized seem to move much faster.

I'll leave the movement rate query for somebody else;

To see the distance scale, click the button that is outlined in yellow below. It will put a kilometer grid on the map.

I don't think its a bug. I must be just missing something. The last unit was a inf unit(bicycles and infantry carts). If the scale is at lets say 10 meters then maybe they could move that fast and far. Plus again you have to allow for the type of fomation that the unit is in.

Can you confirm whether the unit in question is a friendly unit or an enemy intel report?

The way we handle enemy intel reports is that we store their last reported location. Then if they are spotted at some other location, we animate the unit icon to give the player the awareness that they have moved locations. Now sometimes this can be a large distance and it look slike they are moving at a super fast speed. The alternative was to simply blit them off at the old spot and on at the new one. On balance we think the animation is better.

Another possible reason for "super speeds" is when units rout. Routing units represent a disorganised mass of men and vehicles fleeing the battle and hence they do move at a faster than tactical rate.
