Great Game Guys!

Post by Peterk1 »

Not too many messages from people praising these games these days, so I thought I'd stick one up.
I played CC2 way back when and had lots of fun with that CG - it's probably the best gaming experience in my memory actually. Then Combat Mission came along and I learned ASL and I went that route for many, many years. Didn't think I'd ever play CC again.

But last week I picked up the Longest Day, to take a peek because I don't really have any desire to play CM again (got very pissed off years ago at how badly my units in that game actually followed my orders...it stopped feeling like a game to me) and ASL just takes too damn long and it makes my brain hurt with all those rules. I've been playing the Grand Campaign in TLD constantly for a about a week and it's been a long, long time since any game computer or otherwise has held my attention for that long. Good game. Great nailbiting grand-campaign.

I know a lot of the old timers are starting to be a little vocal about long-standing issues that are not changing that much, but for people who haven't played CC for a while, or ever, these reissues are great fun and much appreciated.
