Can a scenario be played for a longer time?

Can a scenario be played for a longer time?

I have been looking at this forum for quite some time before buying the game and decided to buy it yesterday. Cant wait to start. However, I am already disappointed as there are only scenarios. Are you able to play the whole entire war or do you have to play a scenario only?

Yes you can pay the whole war. Just pick the 1914 start, and you can continue 'til the end.

I haven't reinstalled it since I rebuilt my machine, but, if I remember correctly, the different scenarios are just start points for the war.  You have to option to end it at a certain point, but can still play until the bitter end.
