Does the game use historical start positions for the different campaigns or is there any variability in the set up? For example is this the same Manstein variant for Fall Gelb only or is there any variablity in planning?

How does this game differ in the treatment of these early campaigns from the numerous others already out?

Can the Poles actually win?

Pretty sure I read that you can vary the start position of some troops. I would guess the Poles "win" by surviving long enough and/or inflicting many German casualties.

Each scenario comes with a number of variants causing different setups. Also case white and yellow have the variant to fully customize the initial deployment of your forces and make up your own attack or defense plan in round 0.

There are a wide number of variants depending on the scenario. There is also a free deployment option as well. Yes the poles can win against the AI and a human opponent. I won as Poland against the AI, there is a AAR if it makes the cut and gets posted, and I also lost to another beta tester as the Germans, in both cases, perhaps I am no Rommel [;)] but the game does very well in AI mode.
