Curious About End Of Campaign Screen

Post by Peterk1 »

I just finished my first Grand Camapaign in Longest Day. Took about 3 weeks or so and was great fun. Best wargaming I've had in many, many years.

I'm just wondering about the end screen. Through the entire game I've been getting told that I'm doing better than my historic counterparts (is that what the thin white line is in the Total VL Control guage?), but on the last screen I got told that I lost. I'm a little bewildered because there are places on the campaign map that did not get captured until many weeks after D-Day, let alone 4 days. Is the message wrong? Or does the player have to completely control every area.

The line represents the base line that that message is connected to.

So, yes, it looks like the message is wrong.
