Level 9 construction yards.

Post by Mysterius »

Hello,

I've been wondering lately about this part of the Galactopedia about the construction yards :
· Level 1: Ship size 150, Base size 450 (Basic Ship Yard SY-100)

· Level 2: Ship size 200, Base size 600

· Level 3: Ship size 270, Base size 810 (Enhanced Ship Yard SY-200)

· Level 4: Ship size 350, Base size 1050

· Level 5: Ship size 450, Base size 1350 (Oversize Ship Yard SY-400)

· Level 6: Ship size 600, Base size 1800

· Level 7: Ship size 800, Base size 2400 (Titan Space Yard SY-800)

· Level 8: Ship size 1000, Base size 3000

· Level 9: Ship size 4000, Base size 12000 (Special construction technology bonus)

How can I reach level 9?
I guess i have to discover it in ruins or something like that, but all ruins i have found at the moment give a smaller size bonus than this one.

I don't think I've ever bothered to read the galactopedia for construction yards.[:D]

Some of those figures have changed now mind you (galactopedia needs updating), but I don't know what it means by 'special construction technology bonus'.

That is definately not how it works anymore.

Basic shipyard: Max size 230 (destroyer)
Enhanced shipyard: Max size 350 (cruiser)

I am guessing the next level allows capital ships. I have not encountered any limits to base-size, bases are pretty much only limited to how much you want to spend on maintainence, and then there is the giant (literally) loop-hole called refuelling ships allowed by enchanced shipyards.

It will depend on your designs. My basic Capital Ship design falls in the 750-800 size range, so I can't build them for a long time.

I have found some ruins that bosted my shipsize to maybe 800 with next shipyard at 950 in the beggining of a game.
Maybe you can rech level 9 if you continue to research from that there?

That is my only solution to the problem, if it is possible to reach so long..

Nope, i have also found several ruins of that kind when playing, but the boost is never large enough.
