Effects of being surrounded

Hi, new to this game and due to blind luck I have surrounded 15 Russian corps. What do i do now?
Will they gradually disintergrate or do I need to destroy them through combat, is there an optimal point when they weaken etc.
Any advice gratefully received.[:)]

If you keep them surrounded they will disappear - I forget exactly what the rule is - I think they loose readiness, and when it reaches 0 they are gone - which means low readiness ones might disappear almost right away.

From memory supply is traced to a city - but cities that are cut off from the rest of the country have limited ability to supply troops in proportion to their points value.
