Battlefield Academy questions

Post by EdgarPatrick »

Hello all,

Always looking for the next good thing in gaming and I'm a bit interested in Battlefield Academy (BA) and I have some questions.

1) Anyone here played it? Is it similar to any other games, past or present? Good points \ bad points?

2) How are turns handled, IGOUGO or WEGO?

3) Is LAN play allowed? I always have three pc's (one for me and the missus, one for each of the boys) so it's not difficult to get someone to come over, bring a laptop or a desktop and start a four way game.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Regards

1 Reminds me of Steel Panthers in 3D, though not as detailed.

2 IGOUGO

3 Multiplayer is handled by Slitherine's servers. 2 players only. Hotseat is possible.

Simple fun game.
Conflict of Heroes "Most games are like checkers or chess and some have dice and cards involved too. This game plays like checkers but you think like chess and the dice and cards can change everything in real time."

I liked it a lot. The only real problem I had with it is I didn't like how the opportunity-fire behaved. Then again, I have never liked how it behaves in any wargame, and thus am happy when this element is left out entirely.
